Christopher Nolan’s TENET IMAX Prologue Summary Surfaces
Writer-director Christopher Nolan’s super-secret new film Tenet starring John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Kenneth Branagh has a ten-minute prologue playing before IMAX versions of some movie called The Rise of Skywalker.
And today, a Reddit user posted a summary of the prologue, writing:
“We see a concert hall in Russia where some terrorists take the stage and take the auditory hostage. This is watched by a Russian police unit who send in ‘the Americans’. It seems to be some kind of counter-terrorism unit. While the Russian police fill gas in the audience room that makes everyone pass out, the Americans rescue someone who was watching the concert in some kind of v.i.p. area. The terrorists plant bombs and one of the Americans decides to dismantle the bombs although it is not part of their orders. It is shown, that some gadgets can manipulate time, but it is not clearly shown how or why. He succeeds in a way and only the VIP area is destroyed. They escape on a bus, only to reveal that they have ‘the wrong guy’.“

While the film has been described as “an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage” Nolan recently told EW a bit more about the film today, revealing:
“We’re jumping off from the point of view of an espionage film, but we’re going to a number of different places. We’re crossing a few different genres in a hopefully exciting and fresh way. Emma [Thomas] and I have put together a lot of large-scale productions, but this is certainly the biggest in terms of international reach. We shot in seven countries, all over the place, with a massive cast and huge set pieces. There’s no question, it’s the most ambitious film we’ve made.”
Written, directed, and produced by Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Memento, Dunkirk) it is set to be released by Warner Bros. on July 17, 2020.
