Joker centers on failed comedian Arthur Fleck – forever alone in a crowd – as he seeks connection walking the streets of Gotham City. Arthur wears two masks — the one he paints for his day job as a clown, and the guise he projects in a futile attempt to feel like he’s part of the world around him. Isolated, bullied and disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.

Todd Phillips (The Hangover) directed Joker from a screenplay he co-wrote with Scott Silver based on DC Comics characters. Phillips also produced the film with Bradley Cooper and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. It stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, and Frances Conroy.

Joker is now playing at a theater near you.
