Lesbian Couple vs Serial Killers in THE RETREAT W/ Aaron Ashmore

Pat Mills’ The Retreat has already snagged Tommie-Amber Pirie and Sarah Allen to play a lesbian couple being pursued by militant serial killers while on weekend holiday in a remote cabin.
And today The Hollywood Reporter lets us know that the horror-thriller has also snagged Aaron Ashmore (Veronica Mars) and Rossif Sutherland (Reign) as well.
While not much else is known about the thriller at this point, we do know that Alyson Richards (Don’t Talk to Irene) wrote the script and is producing along with Lauren Grant (Riot Girls).
Jeff Sackman, Berry Meyerowitz, Leah Jaunzems, Emma Phelan, John Laing, and Mark Gingras will executive produce.

In the meantime, producer Lauren Grant’s Riot Girls is a flick I’m really looking forward to checking out as soon as possible. It’s directed by Jovanka Vuckovic (XX) from a screenplay written by Katherine Collins (Lost in Space).
It begins after all the adults are wiped out from a mysterious disease, surviving kids split into two groups: the have not Eastsiders vs. the tyrannical Westside Titans. When one of their own is captured by the Titans, it’s up to punk rockers and best friends Nat and Scratch to lead the Eastside teens on a deadly, high-octane mission that forever alters the future of Potter’s Bluff.
It stars Madison Iseman (Annabelle Comes Home, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween) and Paloma Kwiatkowski (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters) and is now available on VOD.
