Joan Allen Joins Clive Owen & Julianne Moore in Stephen King’s LISEY’S STORY

Apple’s eight-episode limited series adaptation of Stephen King’s Lisey’s Story with Julianne Moore and Clive Owen is coming soon from J.J. Abrams, Bad Robot, and Warner Bros. Television.

And today Deadline reports that Joan Allen will co-star in the limited series as the oldest of Lisey’s (Moore) sisters, Amanda.

Some classic Joan Allen movies include Manhunter, The Crucible, The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Bourne Legacy, Death Race, Room, and Stephen King’s own A Good Marriage co-starring Stephen Lang.

Written and executive produced by Stephen King, Lisey’s Story centers on a woman named – you guessed it – Lisey who lost her husband Scott two years ago, after a twenty-five-year marriage of profound and sometimes frightening intimacy. Scott was an award-winning, bestselling novelist and a very complicated man.

Early in their relationship, before they married, Lisey knew there was a place Scott went—a place that both terrified and healed him, could eat him alive or give him the ideas he needed in order to live. Now it’s Lisey’s turn to face Scott’s demons, to go to that terrifying place known as Boo’ya Moon.

What begins as an effort to sort through the papers of her husband becomes a journey into the darkness he inhabited.

Pablo Larrain (Jackie) directs the show from a series of scripts by Stephen King himself based on his novel of the same name. King, Moore, and Abrams executive produce with Ben Stephenson.
