Goyer to Helm Baltimore

Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire review (click for a better look at the cover!)Here’s a project we’ve been hearing rumblings about but had to keep quiet on until the I’s were dotted and the T’s crossed, and I’m very happy it happened sooner rather than later.

Variety reports this morning that New Regency has acquired the rights to Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire (review), the first collaboration between New England author Christopher Golden (hear his Dreadtime Story with us here!) and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.

Mignola and Golden will pen the script, and none other than David (Blade: Trinity, The Invisible) Goyer is on board to direct! The story, for those of you who have avoided it until now, is about Lord Henry Baltimore, a soldier in WWI who is responsible for unleashing a horrible evil on the world and makes it his duty to track down the source of that evil and kill it. The book is set in an alternate historical version of our world and tells the story of three men summoned by the now-legendary Baltimore, who recount both their own experiences with the supernatural and how they came to trust Baltimore explicitly.

Believe me when I say we’re going to be on top of this one from start to finish, so stay tuned! For now, click here to get Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire through Evilshop!
