We’ve been following the work of comic writer Thom Burgess for a number of years now, so we’re thrilled to announce the release of his new forty-five page graphic novella Ghoster, which he describes as ‘The Conjuring meets Assassin’s Creed’. If that logline doesn’t get you hooked, we doubt anything will.
The story focuses on James Tallier, a young new recruit in the Guild of Ghosters, an elite taskforce responsible for neutralising paranormal threats. We follow James and the rest of the team of Ghosters as they attempt to exorcise all the ghosts haunting 50 Berkeley Square, which proves to be no easy task. If the name of the building sounds familiar, it’s because it’s actually a real life London townhouse which is supposedly haunted by restless spirits.
While this is clearly a story with a heavy focus on action, Burgess and co-creator Toby Meakins also made sure to sprinkle in a strong dose of horror and suspense, so readers of both genres will be satisfied. Joe Becci’s clear and atmospheric artwork also helped to make this a particularly enjoyable read.
If you’d like to experience this action-packed ghost story for yourself, Burgess and Meakins have made Ghoster available to download for free on their website. We certainly think fans of horror comics should give this book a go.
