in 2004, Zack Snyder proved that 21st Century remakes of classic horror properties could actually be profound. His rendition of George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead was a smash. Now, he’s set to bring zombie hordes to the masses once again with Army of the Dead.
It’s been months since we’ve seen any significant production or casting news, but all that changed late yesterday when THR revealed that Army of the Dead has started filming. We also got major cast updates:
As it begins shooting in New Mexico, Zack Snyder’s zombie heist thriller Army of the Dead has rounded out its cast. Omari Hardwick, Chris D’Elia and Westworld actor Hiroyuki Sanada have boarded the Netflix movie starring Dave Bautista. Garret Dillahunt, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, Matthias Schweighöfer, Samantha Win and Rich Cetrone are also joining the cast.
Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.
