THE HAXAN CLOAK’s Bobby Krlic Tapped as MIDSOMMAR Composer

As if Ari Aster’s sun-drenched Midsommar wasn’t going to look terrifying, now it’s absolutely going to sound terrifying as it’s been confirmed that Bobby Krlic, known for his musical project The Haxan Cloak, will be the composer for the A24 folk horror film.
The Haxan Cloak has released two full-length albums, three EPs, and has worked on soundtracks for Blackhat, Triple 9, and Almost Holy. Below is a video from Pitchfork Music Festival Paris 2014 of the track “The Mirror Reflecting”.
To say that this is exciting news is an understatement. Krlic’s work has been lauded, for good reason, for years. He has the ability to weave terror into the very fabric of musical compositions and a film like Midsommar is going to be so much better with his touch on it. Trust me, Midsommar will be hailed as having one of the best horror soundtracks of the year.

Midsommar stars Florence Pugh, Will Poulter, and Jack Reynor. Look for it in US theaters beginning July 3rd. It was written and directed by Ari Aster.
