Trailer: Netflix Invokes The Spirit of The JINN
Netflix has just released a trailer for their upcoming supernatural fantasy horror series Jinn, an Arabic-language series that follows a group of high school students who find themselves caught between a battle between two Jinns. The five-episode series is set to debut on the streaming service on June 13. The series was first announced in February of 2018 and was shot in Jordan.
“This is a great opportunity to portray Arab youth in a very unique way. The level of authenticity Netflix is trying to achieve with this show is definitely what attracted me the most to be part of this project.” said director Mir-Jean Bou Chaaya.
Erik Barmack, VP of International Original Series at Netflix, added, “We’re delighted to be working with such a variety of breakout talent to launch our first Arabic original series in the Middle East. We are extremely excited to bring this story to a global audience, and to celebrate Arab youth and culture.”
“On a field trip to Petra, two jinns — one good, the other evil — enter the human realm, turning high school into a supernatural battleground.“
Written and executive produced by Elan and Rajeev Dassani with Mir-Jean Bou Chaaya directing, Jinn stars Sultan Alkhail, Hana Chamoun, and Yasser Al Hadi.
