Trailer: Latest Teaser for SWAMP THING TV Series Asks: What Happens When the Man of Your Dreams Turns Out to Be a Monster?

As a member of the DC Comics universe, there’s always been something about the Swamp Thing that’s been, well, cartoonish. Launch a TV series produced by James Wan, however, and Swamp Thing becomes a ghastly sight to behold. Need proof? The trailer released on April 24th has a heavy horror vibe.

The latest teaser for Swamp Thing strikes a more romantic note, while still remaining delightfully shivery. It asks: What if the man of your dreams turns out to be a monster? Give it a spin embedded at the top of the article.

Synopsis:
Swamp Thing centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane. When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

The Swamp Thing TV series will be premiering exclusively on DC’s streaming platform beginning May 31st. The titular Swamp Thing is played by Derek Mears who stars with Virginia Madsen, Amber Barnes, Jennifer Beals, and Andy Bean (among others); Len Wiseman directs.
