Monsterpalooza (which took place in Pasadena, California last weekend) is not your average horror movie convention. Dedicated to “The Art of the Monster”, the annual event focuses on the creative side of horror movie making. In addition to meeting genre icons and perusing the wares of hundreds of vendors, attendees can watch demos of today’s hottest special effects artists in action.
To that end, we’re thrilled to share the video embedded at the top of the article. It features actor/composer/musician/producer/writer Lito Velasco “becoming” Jerry Dandrige from Tom Holland’s Fright Night!
At the hands of the incredibly-talented Miranda Riddle and David Woodruff and their assistant, Jose Restrepo, Velasco was transformed into Jerry Dandrige from the 1985 cult and horror classic, Fright Night. The artists used prosthetics from RBFX in order to change his facial structure into that of the unforgettable character portrayed by Chris Sarandon. The process took three hours.
