Zack Snyder’s ARMY OF THE DEAD to Star Dave Bautista

Zack Snyder’s remake of Dawn of the Dead launched him to prominence in 2004. He didn’t just strike a chord with horror fans; major studios saw his potential and hired him to helm many of the biggest superhero flicks of the last decade. Now, Snyder is getting back to his zombie roots with Army of the Dead, currently in the works at Netflix.

Now, we’re getting word that Snyder has found his leading man in Dave Bautista. Bautista‘s been a busy man, as Deadline reports:

He’ll next be seen reprising his Drax role in Avengers: Endgame, which Disney and Marvel release April 26; he also stars in Stuber, the Fox/Disney film that has a lot of heat and a July 12 release date, and the STX pic My Spy, which isn’t yet dated but whose trailer debuted at CinemaCon. Bautista produces that film with his manager Jonathan Meisner. He also is shooting Dune, reconnecting with his Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villenueve, and also has a third Guardians of the Galaxy, with James Gunn back at the helm.

Army of the Dead Synopsis:
Following a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.
