First Look at Stunning GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS Variant Cover of FAMOUS MONSTERS ACK-IVES

Last February, our friends at Famous Monsters of Filmland announced a new series: Ack-Ives (a mashup of “Archives” and FM Editor-in-Chief Forrest J. Ackerman) will be reference guides on horror and sci-fi films curated from the publication’s 60-year history. The first Ack-Ive arrives this May, and it’s all about Godzilla: King of the Monsters!

Today, we’re pleased to share the “First Look” at the variant cover for Ack-Ives: Godzilla (created by the team at Art Machine for Warner Bros.) below.

Issue Description:
In addition to over 100 pages of long out-of-print content from Famous Monsters’ 60+ year history, Famous Monsters Ack-Ives: Godzilla also contains an up close and personal interview with Godzilla: King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty. Dougherty is an admitted lifelong fan of the big green beast, and he talks to FM about what fans can expect from the movie — as well as details of his own semi-embarrassing fandom history, which may or may not involve doodling in the pages of his elementary school Bible.

Look for Famous Monsters Ack-Ives: Godzilla on newsstands beginning May 7th. Godzilla: King of the Monsters arrives in US theaters begining May 31st. Check out the synopsis and trailer below.

Synopsis:
Members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species thought to be mere myths-rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, and Zhang Ziyi.
