Towards the end of February, we reported that a new 3-hour version of Nightbreed was being assembled with never-before-seen footage. To recap:
Before Scream Factory released a director’s cut of Clive Barker’s Nightbreed, the artist/filmmaker was touring theaters with something called The Cabal Cut; it included almost an hour of extra footage culled from both materials cut from the final print as well as daily work tapes. Word recently came down from Barker’s camp that a new Cabal Cut is being assembled—and this one will be over three hours long!

In addition to the news, we’ve twice shared a bevy of images from the new Cabal Cut that had been posted on the film’s official Twitter account. In the week and a half since our last image gallery, producers have released more than two-dozen additional images. Peruse them at your leisure below.
While we wait for release details, enjoy the trailer or synopsis for Night Breed: The Director’s Cut below.
Aaron Boone (Craig Sheffer) is haunted by terrifying nightmares of a city of monsters. He goes to see a psychiatrist, Dr. Decker (David Cronenberg), for help. But what Boone doesn’t know is that Decker is really a serial killer. Decker frames Boone to take the fall for his murders, and Boone is killed by the police. But Boone is brought back to life by the monsters of his dreams, the Nightbreed, who in turn join Boone in his quest to stop Decker from killing again.
