Scream Factory Releasing THE GREEN INFERNO Collector’s Edition + Release Date & Special Features Announced

Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno was absolutely one of my favorite horror movies of 2015, and I don’t care who gives me guff about it. In addition to the gag-inducing gore and cannibalistic violence, I really enjoyed the social commentary (specifically, razor-sharp satire aimed at “armchair activists” and millennials who measure success based on the amount of views their causes receive online).
So, I’m personally thrilled by news that Scream Factory (the horror distribution arm of Shout! Factory) is giving The Green Inferno a stunning Collector’s Edition reissue. Look for it online and at brick and mortar retailers beginning April 23rd.
“I’m so excited about the bonus materials. We were never able to put the making-of on the original release and the footage we have from the amazon is incredible” says filmmaker Eli Roth. “It was amazing to relive the experience of making The Green Inferno. We took our crew further than any narrative film crew has ever gone and the stories are even more insane than I remember.”

Synopsis:
New York college student Justine (Lorenza
Izzo), a lawyer’s daughter, meets a student activist named Alejandro (Ariel
Levy) when he goes on a hunger strike on behalf of underpaid janitors. Smitten,
Justine agrees to help Alejandro undertake his next project: to save the
Amazon. She soon learns to regret her decision when their plane crashes in the
Peruvian jungle and she and the rest of their group are taken captive by a
tribe of hungry cannibals.
