VHS FOREVER? ONCE UPON A TIME IN CAMDEN Documentary Ejects A Trailer

Mark Williams, the co-director of the acclaimed documentary VHS Forever? Psychotronic People (review), is returning to direct the sequel, VHS Forever? Once Upon a Time in Camden . The film began shooting last year, with the first trailer having just made its way online.

Similar to its predecessor, Once Once Upon a Time in Camden will examine the cultural legacy of VHS tapes, and how they have gone from being the conventional method of watching films at home to highly sought after collector’s items. As its name suggests, a large portion of filming this time around took place in Camden’s Electric Ballroom, a place visited in droves by fans of cult cinema.

Interviewees will include Jane Giles of the British Film Institute, comedian James Mullinger, poster artist Graham Humphreys, writer Jason D. Brawn, director Sam Ashurst, and cult actor/artist Billy Chainsaw, who recently appeared in Emma Dark’s Purgatoric. Filming will continue until May, and we can expect to see the documentary towards the end of 2019.
