Aubrey Plaza Talks Plot Details from Upcoming CHILD’S PLAY Remake + Extended Synopsis Hits German Website

There were a couple of juicy bits of Child’s Play reboot news that hit the internet late last week and this weekend. The first came from an interview the film’s star Aubrey Plaza gave to The Hollywood Reporter following The Spirit Awards (which she hosted). The second was a potential leak in the form of an extended plot synopsis for the upcoming MGM/Orion release that surfaced on a German Blu-ray database.

YouTuber Jimmy Champane summarizes both items, leaving any potential spoilers for the second half of the video (so listen for his warning). It seems like Plaza is genuinely enthusiastic about the project, which she promises is an actual slasher/horror throwback. She also said the film has a “Spielbergian vibe” which many are interpreting as code for: “The remake will be rated PG-13”. At this point, it’s all just speculation, though.

For the leaked plot details and Champane’s deep dive into the direction of MGM’s Child’s Play might take, give the video embedded at the top of the article as spin. You can check out the official synopsis and trailer for Child’s Play below.

Synopsis:
A mother gives her son a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

Child’s Play is directed by Lars Klevberg from a script penned by Tyler Burton Smith; in addition to Plaza, the film stars Brian Tyree Henry, Tim Matheson, and Gabriel Bateman.
