Mike Flanagan Will Develop a Second Season of THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE

Some interesting news is breaking as it’s been announced by See What’s Next, a Netflix account, that writer/director Mike Flanagan and producer Trevor Macy have signed on to a multi-year pact with the streaming service to an overall deal. This will include a second season of their wildly popular series The Haunting of Hill House, although the second season will be completely unrelated to the first, starring a new family with their own story.

From here on forward, the series, as a whole, will be known as The Haunting as each one is going to have its own unique name. The second season will be called The Haunting of Bly Manor, which will be an adaptation of Henry James’ The Turning of the Screw.

“Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy are masterful at creating authentically frightening stories that leave audiences on the edge of their seats, but unable to look away,” said Cindy Holland, VP Originals at Netflix. “We’re excited to continue our partnership with them on The Haunting series and future projects to come.”

“Netflix has been an important part of our story, and we’re proud to have worked with them on The Haunting of Hill House, not to mention Gerald’s Game, Hush, and Before I Wake,” said Flanagan and Macy. “They’ve enabled and supported a great deal of our work and we look forward to much more.”

This is obviously massive news for one of horror’s most shining voices. Flanagan’s work over the past decade has resulted in some of the most innovative and acclaimed horror titles, so we’re incredibly excited to see what comes next!
