Here at Dread Central we’re huge fans of Takashi Shimizu so we’re uber-jazzed about his next foray into the world of fright, 7500. We’re even happier about the flick’s casting. Speaking of which, you can add another doomed passenger to the ever growing flight manifest.
Johnathon Schaech (Prom Night, Laid to Rest, Quarantine, ChromeSkull) has joined the previously announced Ryan Kwanten, Amy Smart, Leslie Bibb, Jamie Chung, Nicky Whelan, Christian Serratos, Scout Taylor-Compton, Jerry Ferrara, and Alex Frost.
Look for the flick in theatres on August 31, 2012.
From the Prior Press Release:
Written by Craig Rosenberg (TV’s “Lost”) and produced by Taka Ichise (The Grudge) and Roy Lee (The Ring), 7500 follows a group of passengers who encounter what appears to be a supernatural force while on a trans-Pacific flight. John Middleton and Tracy McGrath are serving as executive producers.
Chung will play Suzy Lee, a newly engaged flight attendant on Vista Pacific Flight 7500 while Serratos will co-star as Raquel Mendoza, who boards the plane after sharing a secret with her boyfriend. Taylor-Compton is set to play Jacinta Beckett, who has a unique perspective on death. Leslie Bibb plays Laura Baxter, a flight attendant who is involved in a complicated and secret relationship, and Ryan Kwanten and Amy Smart portray married couple Brad and Pia Martin, who board Vista Pacific Flight 7500 with their two longtime friends for a trip to Japan. Ferrara is “Rick”, about whom not much else is known.
Senior Vice President of Production Maria Faillace and Creative Executive Ryan Conroy are overseeing the project for CBS Films.
