Netflix is Resurrecting UNSOLVED MYSTERIES With STRANGER THINGS Producer

Netflix has announced that they have greenlit a 12-episode reboot of the true crime series Unsolved Mysteries with original show creators Terry Dunn Meurer and John Cosgrove behind the project, per THR. Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy is also on as an executive producer for the series along with his 21 Laps partner Josh Barry.

What will set the new series apart is that each episode will focus on a sole mystery and it will also ask viewers for their help in solving the strange case.

Unsolved Mysteries originally aired for nine seasons on NBC after there were a series of specials in 1987. The show was hosted by Robert Stack who was later joined by Virginia Madsen for a season after the show moved to CBS. There were new episodes in the early 2000’s on Lifetime and then Spike aired the show from 2008 through 2010 with Dennis Farina as a host.

Below is the haunting theme that managed to terrify me every single time I heard it.
