Those who love horror anime are well aware of Satoshi Kon’s psychological thriller Perfect Blue, which follows a singer willing to do anything in her pursuit to become an actress. Critically acclaimed, the film has held a lasting impact that has taken it beyond the anime audience to see it embraced by the film community at large.
A celebrated aspect of the film is the soundtrack from Masahiro Ikumi and the original music will be hitting vinyl today for the first time ever thanks to the good folk over at Tiger Lab Vinyl! As they describe it, what you’ll hear, “…is an electronic tour de force filled with ambient layers, eerie vocal choirs, infectious rhythms, and ghostly melodies.” Remastered by Tiger Lab Vinyl’s regular maestro Heba Kadry of Timeless Mastering NYC, the soundtrack will begin shipping in the beginning of 2019.
