Here’s the Official Plot Synopsis for Jordan Peele’s Next Horror Movie: US
A couple years back, most of us knew Jordan Peele best as half of the comic sketch duo Key & Peele. Today, Peele is one of the most well-respected writer/directors in the horror genre following the massive success of his debut feature film, Get Out, which nabbed him an Oscar for Best Screenplay. We’ve been watching with anticipation to see what Peeleplans on delivering next, and today brings us our first solid information
Our friends at /Films got the exclusive and, from the sound of it, it treads familiar paths—with a twist. What first came to my mind was, “This sounds like a cabin in the woods movie, expect it takes place at the beach!” Have a read for yourself below.
A mother (Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o from Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and 12 Years a Slave) and a father (Winston Duke from Black Panther) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elizabeth Moss from TV series The Handmaid’s Tale). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.
Look for Us to break into US theaters beginning March 15th, 2019.
In addition to Us, Peele is working on a reboot of The Twilight Zone in addition to producing a Candyman remake. We’ll be keeping our eyes on all of these projects in order to bring you additional details as news emerges. Stay tuned!
