Will THE CONJURING 3 Take Place in Court?

Anonymous sources close to the production claim the plot of The Conjuring 3, eyeing a 2020 release, will involve a man claiming he was possessed on trial for murder. This would break the haunted house horror trope that served as the backbone of the first two Conjuring movies; we’ve seen a similar set-up in the possession shocker The Exorcism of Emily Rose in 2005.

It’s important to keep in mind that this information must be classified as rumor and conjecture until it’s officially confirmed by Warner Brother. In The Conjuring 3, James Wan will be passing the director’s torch to Michael Chaves, though he will remain attached as a producer. The screenplay is being penned by David Leslie Johnson.

A third Annabelle is also brewing, targeting a 2019 release. Like the first two Annabelle movies, the screenplay is being penned by Gary Dauberman; this time, however, will mark the first occasion he’ll be sitting in the director’s chair as well.
