Scream Factory Releasing King/Romero Classic CREEPSHOW Collector Edition Next Month

Horror anthologies surged in popularity in the 2000s, a trend that’s continuing strong today. But any retrospective of the best of the best will include George A. Romero’s 1982 collaboration with Stephen King, Creepshow. Sure, the effects are dated, but the storytelling remains elite allowing it to stand the test of time. Creepshow remains infectiously watchable and deeply entrenched in our genre zeitgeist.

Just in time for Halloween, our friends at Scream Factory are releasing a collector’s edition of Creepshow, loaded with hours of special features. Check out all the details below in today’s official press release:

Collector’s Edition Blu-ray Debuts October 23rd, 2018 from Scream Factory

In Creepshow, masters of the macabre – writer Stephen King and director George A. Romero – conjure up five shocking yarns, each a virtuoso exercise in the ghouls-and-gags style of classic ’50s horror comics. Available October 23rd, 2018, from Scream Factory, the Creepshow: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray features a new 4k scan of the original camera negative supervised and approved by director of photography Michael Gornick, as well as a sinister smorgasbord of brand-new bonus features, including two new audio commentaries and over 100 minutes of new interviews with cast and crew. Fans can pre-order their copies now by visiting ShoutFactory.com.

A murdered man emerges from the grave for Father’s Day cake. A meteor’s ooze makes everything … grow. A professor selects his wife as a snack for a crated creature. A scheming husband plants two lovers up to their necks in terror. A malevolent millionaire with an insect phobia becomes the prey of a cockroach army. Add the spirited performances of an excellent cast (Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, E.G. Marshall and King himself) and the ghoulish makeup wizardry of Tom Savini, and you have a non-stop, thrilling ride in Creepshow.
