THE PREDATOR Earns R-Rating for Strong Bloody Violence & More

Later this summer we will be hit by Shane Black and Fred Dekker’s reboot The Predator starring Tom Jane. And today we’ve learned via the MPAA that the film has snagged a hard R-rating for “strong bloody violence, language throughout, and crude sexual references.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m so fucking happy to hear the powers that be over at Fox didn’t get cold feet at the last moment and edit this film down to PG-13. Time to rejoice!

Synopsis:

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
