STRANGER THINGS Producers Snag Clooney to Direct Sci-Fi Thriller ECHO

George Clooney is heading to the sci-fi horror-thriller genre again with an all-new flick called Echo. The movie is written by Christopher MacBride and follows:
“A drone specialist has a psychological crisis: is he paranoid in suspecting his lover is not who she appears to be, and could she possibly have been replaced?”
Sounds like Solaris to me.
Deadline reports Clooney is still only in early talks to direct the 20th Century Fox film from production company 21 Laps (Arrival, Stranger Things) and producers Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Dan Cohen.

Synopsis:
Based on the classic science fiction novel by Stanislaw Lem, “Solaris” centers on a psychologist sent to investigate unexplained behavior of key scientists on a space station orbiting the planet Solaris. Once aboard he, too, falls victim to this unique world’s mysteries — as well as to an erotic obsession with someone he thought he had left behind.
