Oh, if only The Asylum actually was producing a movie called Snow White and the 2-Headed Shark. I would watch that in a heartbeat. But they do have a new dark fantasy retelling of Snow White in the works, and we have new artwork for 2-Headed Shark Attack.

When I saw that The Asylum had updated its website to announce a supernatural Snow White in the works, my very first thought was as to what must have brought this on. Then I remembered that one of the big movies for next summer is Snow White and the Huntsman with Kristen Stewart as an extra pouty Snow White. The Asylum will be beating Universal to the punch by several months with a Valentine’s Day DVD release of Grimm’s Snow White.

When the King is killed by ferocious reptile beasts, his Queen takes control of the kingdom. She tries to kill her beautiful stepdaughter, SNOW, but she escapes into the enchanted forest…

Ferocious reptile beasts! See? They’ve already topped Disney.

The last time I saw Jane March in a movie, it was a low budget direct-to-DVD retelling of Beauty & the Beast. Now she’ll be starring in this Asylum-produced fairy tale, presumably as the evil stepmother since she’s not quite as young as she was back in the Nineties when she was starring clothing-optional in The Lover and Color of Night.

The title role is most assuredly going to Eliza Bennett, most recently seen fearing for her life from a giant gypsy bird in Syfy’s Roadkill. “The Tudors”‘ Jamie Thomas King no doubt plays her romantic love interest, most likely a handsome woodsman or Prince Charming or perhaps an especially tall dwarf.

Rachel Goldenberg, director of the 2010 Asylum version of Sherlock Holmes, returns to helm this variation on a classic character scripted by Naomi Selfman, the author of Mega Python vs. Gatoroid and Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus.

And since I just brought up some previous Asylum creature features, I might as well end this update with the DVD artwork for an Asylum monster movie we’ve already been giving you a heads up on: 2-Headed Shark Attack.
