Today saw the digital release of CBS Films’ Winchester, which stars Helen Mirren as Sarah Winchester, the heiress to the Winchester Rifle estate. Winchester is convinced that she must turn her estate into a maze for the vengeful spirits of those that have met their demise through one of her family’s rifles, resulting in a home that is seven stories tall and contains hundreds of room constructed in a dizzying labyrinth. But are her efforts enough to keep these spirits at bay?
To celebrate today’s release, we’ve got a special features clip that goes into what the costume department took into account when creating Helen Mirren’s dresses for her role. It’s fascinating to see how little details play such a big role not just in the overall appearance but how it will play on film and in the minds of viewers.
Winchester is written and directed by Michael Spierig & Peter Spierig (Jigsaw, Undead) and stars Academy Award-winner Helen Mirren, Jason Clarke (Terminator: Genisys), Sarah Snook (Predestination), and Angus Sampson (Insidious).
The film arrives on Digital April 17 and on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack (plus DVD and Digital), DVD, and On Demand May 1 from Lionsgate. You can pre-order the film via Amazon.
