James McAvoy and Bill Hader in Talks to Join Stephen King’s IT: Chapter 2

In what is some killer, but unexpected, news, it looks like James McAvoy and Bill Hader are in talks to join Jessica Chastain in Andy Muschietti’s IT: Chapter 2.

Variety reports that McAvoy may play the role of Bill (played by Jaeden Lieberher in the first movie), and Hader is in talks for the role of Richie (originally played by Finn Wolfhard).

As previously announced, Chastain will play Beverly.

IT: Chapter 1 was directed by Andrés Muschietti from a script by Chase Palmer & Cary Joji Fukunaga and Gray Dauberman, based on the novel by Stephen King. The film stars Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Jack Dylan Grazer, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs, Nicholas Hamilton, Owen Teague, Javier Botet, Steven Williams, and Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

IT: Chapter 2 hits theaters September 6, 2019.

Synopsis:

A group of young kids faces their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
