PaleyFest is something that we’ve been covering for a while now here at DC, and it’s looking like the 2018 Los Angeles event could be one of the best yet! The first three TV shows that will be represented at next year’s PaleyFest LA have been announced, and of course the phenomenon known as “Stranger Things” is at the top of the list!

If you’ll be in or around SoCal in mid-March, read on for the details; and look for more soon – assuming other genre shows are announced.

From the Press Release:
In 1984 a game-changing television festival was born. What started merely as screenings that celebrated the likes of Lucille Ball, Rod Serling, and Sid Caesar has grown into the premier television festival: PALEYFEST LA. For thirty-five years this iconic festival has presented cutting-edge programs and connected television fans with the stars of their favorite shows, creating unforgettable moments along the way. PaleyFest LA returns to the Dolby Theatre March 16-25, 2018.

The first selections for the 2018 lineup include the critically acclaimed and cultural phenomenon “Stranger Things” from Netflix, the fall’s top-rated new drama “The Good Doctor” from ABC, and the Emmy Award-winning “Will & Grace” from NBC. The full schedule of PaleyFest LA programs will be announced on January 9, 2018.

“For thirty-five years PaleyFest LA has set the standard for what a television festival should be,” said Maureen J. Reidy, the Paley Center’s President & CEO. “We’re so proud to announce the first three selections for this special anniversary, each of which represents the best of what television has to offer and epitomizes the stellar programming featured at PaleyFest LA year after year.”

PaleyFest LA benefits the Paley Center’s preservation and archival digitization efforts and its ongoing mission to explore the significant impact of media on our culture and society. The Paley Center is home to the nation’s foremost publicly accessible archives of television and radio content, over 160,000 programs spanning the history of media, including collections that feature achievements in television from African-Americans, Hispanics, the LGBTQ community, and most recently the achievements of women.

To honor thirty-five years of PaleyFest LA, the Paley Center is asking fans to join in the celebration by sharing their favorite moments and personal stories from PaleyFest on the Paley Center’s social media pages.
