During September of 1984, the BBC aired a film that shocked millions of UK viewers… months later it aired Stateside on TBS and went on to become one of the most watched basic cable programs in history. The movie was called Threads, and Severin Films is bringing it to Blu-ray fully restored and in HD! Oh, glorious day!

Directed by Mick Jackson, Threads stars Reece Dinsdale (“Coronation Street”), David Brierly (“Doctor Who”), and Jane Hazelgrove (“Casualty”). Special features include:

  • Audio commentary with director Mick Jackson moderated by film writer Kier-La Janisse and Severin Films’ David Gregory
  • Audition for the Apocalypse: Interview with actress Karen Meagher
  • Shooting the Annihilation: Interview with director of photography Andrew Dunn
  • Destruction Designer: Interview with production designer Christopher Robilliard
  • Interview with film writer Stephen Thrower
  • The US trailer

Even cooler? A limited, numbered edition of 3,500 copies with a lenticular cover will also be available. Nice, right?

Look for Threads in stores and online January 16th.
