The Shark is Still Working (click to see it bigger!)I know that this isn’t really “news” to all of you, but bear with me. We got a mini-press release today regarding the upcoming Jaws documentary, The Shark is Still Working, which has been in the works for just over a year now, and I wanted to be sure to get the word out to the half dozen or so fans not in the know.

The doc traces what has happened in our world and the world of movies in the 30+ years since Jaws became the first real blockbuster film. With narration by Jaws star Roy Scheider, a good score in and of itself, The Shark is Still Working looks at how the film affected pop culture, our perception of sharks, and the film industry in general.

When JawsFest hit Martha’s Vineyard (where the movie was primarily shot) last June, the documentary was originally going to focus on just the fest, but since then the project has gained a life of its own. They’ve scored interviews with the cast and crew as welll as influential filmmakers young and old to discuss just how significant Jaws really was to our culture.

Check out the official site for the documentary right here to learn even more, and keep your eyes there for release info as it solidifies!
