The Dark Tower 2 Is Still a Possibility Says Idris Elba

This past summer Stephen King’s The Dark Tower finally hit the big screen – with a thud heard around the world. Not only where the reviews less than favorable, neither fans nor general audience dug the film. Which is too bad because actor Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey kicked all kinds of ass.

But even though the film was a flop by all accounts, it seems there may still be a The Dark Tower 2 in the works. If you can believe Idris Elba. And I think we all can.

“I think any TV series that is an offshoot from the film can have more time to explore some themes,” Elba said during a recent interview with Radio Times. “I’d personally prefer to do another Dark Tower film, exploring some more of the gunslinger – as a film. I don’t know much about where they are with the TV show – but I think there’s definitely talks to try and do another one.”

So there you have it. As far as The Gunslinger himself says, there is another The Dark Tower film in the works.

For better or worse.

Synopsis:

Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), the last Gunslinger, is locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim (Matthew McConaughey), also known as the Man in Black. The Gunslinger must prevent the Man in Black from toppling the Dark Tower, the key that holds the universe together. With the fate of worlds at stake, two men collide in the ultimate battle between good and evil.
