Lust for Darkness Takes Psychological Horror to the Extreme
Lust for Darkness has proven to be an enormous hit on Kickstarter, having raised more than six times its goal of CA$8,000 and achieving most of its stretch goals. There’s still just about a day left in the campaign, so make sure you contribute before time runs out.
Backers will also receive a demo of publisher PlayWay’s other hotly anticipated horror game, Agony.
Developed by Movie Games, Lust for Darkness is a psychological horror game dealing with both erotic and occult themes. The story follows a man whose search for his missing wife leads him to a secluded mansion which harbors a gate to a mysterious Lovecraftian world called Lusst’ghaa.
Because PlayWay is a relatively small publisher outside of the established mainstream, we can expect Lust for Darkness not to hold anything back in terms of explicit content. Which is why YouTuber CoryxKenshin called it the most R-rated game he’s ever played in his preview below.
Lust for Darkness Official Synopsis:
A FPP psychological horror of seeking satisfaction on the border of two intertwining worlds. An intriguing plot with erotic and occult themes guides the player’s character through the Yelverton’s victorian mansion and a perverse land inspired with Lovecraft’s works and paintings of Zdzisław Beksiński.
Jonathan Moon receives a letter from his wife, who had gone missing a year before. Following information from the message he heads for a secluded mansion where an eldritch, occult ceremony takes place. Gates to another world – the profane, perverse land of Lusst’ghaa – are opened.
