French Rape Thriller Revenge Acquired by Shudder
Shudder has announced that they have acquired North American, UK, Ireland and Australian rights to the French rape revenge thriller that is appropriately titled Revenge. The film will have its world premiere at TIFF and will also play at Fantastic Fest. It will then come to select theaters and the horror streaming service in early 2018.
Aurelie de Troyer, Shudder’s VP of Global Acquisitions, said “Coralie’s take on the vengeance motif is so refreshing, it revitalizes the genre as a whole. With films like REVENGE, young French filmmakers are bringing in a new wave of genre movies and we’re thrilled that Coralie’s has found a home with Shudder.”

Having the support of such an impressive new player within the genre space will help the film find an enthusiastic and passionate audience. I am delighted that they will be accompanying me to the world premiere at TIFF!”
The feature debut of Coralie Fargeat, Revenge stars Matilda Lutz and Kevin Jannsens.
Synopsis:
Jen (Matilda Lutz), arrives at a remote desert villa with her millionaire Adonis boy toy (Kevin Jannsens) expecting a weekend of romantic and illicit frivolity. Things take a turn for the worse with her lover’s unseemly hunting pals and Jen must seek vengeance on her attackers as they try to sweep her assault under the rug. REVENGE plunges Jen into an arid, drug-induced hell, but one she resolves to emerge from, leaving a tidal wave of righteous violence in her wake.
