Will Ron Perlman Cameo in the New Hellboy? Nope, Not a Chance

When it was announced by Mike Mignola that a new Hellboy film was being made with director Neil Marshall and would effectively be a reboot to the series, a lot of people were dismayed. For many, the realization that Guillermo del Toro wouldn’t be able to finish his own trilogy was rather heartbreaking, especially because the second film ended with such promise or an interesting third entry.

Alas, there’s not much that can be done about it but look forward with hope that Marshall’s version, which will feature “Stranger Things” actor David Harbour in the titular role, will be something fans will love just as much as the originals.

But if anyone is expecting Ron Perlman, who played Hellboy in del Toro’s films, to show up, you’re going to be disappointed. The actor was asked if he’d appear in Marshall’s adaptation, to which he replied, “When Hellboy freezes over“, essentially killing the idea right away. That being said, you never know what could happen between then and now. Still, I wouldn’t hold out hope.

Ian McShane will be starring alongside David Harbour as Professor Broom. The film will see the main character, “…squaring off against a medieval sorceress who seeks to destroy humankind.

Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin are producing along with Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment.
