On Saturday SYFY’s upcoming paranormal action show “Ghost Wars” made an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con and unveiled its new trailer. You can check it out here and learn more about the 13-episode series that will premiere in the U.S. on SYFY this fall and elsewhere globally on Netflix in 2017.
“Ghost Wars” stars Avan Jogia, Vincent D’Onofrio, Kandyse McClure, Meat Loaf, and Kim Coates.
The series is produced by Nomadic Pictures. Executive producers are Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev (“Fargo,” “Van Helsing,” “Hell on Wheels”), Simon Barry (“Continuum”), Dennis Heaton (“Motive”), and David Von Ancken (“Code Black”). Nomadic Pictures will distribute the series within Canada, the U.S., and the rest of the world.
Synopsis:
A remote Alaskan town has been overrun by paranormal forces. Local outcast Roman Mercer (Avan Jogia) must overcome the town’s prejudices and his own personal demons if he’s to harness his repressed psychic powers and save everyone from the mass haunting that’s threatening to destroy them all.
The main characters include:
VINCENT D’ONOFRIO as FATHER DAN CARPENTER, a small-town priest with a dwindling congregation until the hauntings begin. As the town turns to religion for their salvation, he can’t help but be seduced by his newfound popularity and takes up the mantle as a new leader.
AVAN JOGIA as ROMAN MERCER, a troubled young loner, plagued by his lifelong ability to communicate with the spirit world, who yearns to be left alone by both the living and the dead. But when Port Moore comes under supernatural attack, he must overcome his resentment for the very people who have scorned him his whole life in order to save them and himself.
KANDYSE MCCLURE as LANDIS BARKER, a pragmatic young research scientist who works for Lambda’s Port Moore branch. When the hauntings begin, she joins forces with the townspeople but ultimately believes science holds the key to saving the town.
MEAT LOAF as DOUG RENNIE, the town bully and a tyrannous handyman who makes it his mission to torment Roman Mercer. When Port Moore descends into chaos, he charges to the front line of the lynch mob, ready to point fingers.
