Not to be confused with the superbadass indie flick Evidence we’ve been talking about recently, another cinéma-vérité style found footage fright flick of the same name is on its way.
Variety is reporting that Olatunde Osunsanmi (The Fourth Kind) has signed to direct the thriller Evidence.
The team behind the upcoming Drive is reuniting to produce Evidence, including Marc Platt who will produce through his eponymous shingle along with David Lancaster and Michel Litvak via the Bold Films banner, and Anthony Rhulen through FilmEngine. Platt’s Adam Siegel, Bold’s Gary Michael Walters, and FilmEngine’s Jake Wagner will exec produce and Bold’s Garrick Dion will co-produce.
The flick’s story’s set with police arriving at an abandoned gas station following a brutal massacre — with the only evidence at the crime scene the victims’ personal electronic devices, including a camcorder, flipcam, and two cell phones. With nothing else to go on, a detective must analyze the bits of found footage to piece together the identity of the killer.
Principal photography for Evidence, penned by John Swetnam, is slated to start in July. Look for more soon!
