Upsetting news as KTLA has reported that two buildings in Downey burned down in a suspicious fire that resulted in four people being detained. What makes this news upsetting is that per Don Coscarelli, these buildings were used as the sets for the 2002 horror comedy film Bubba Ho-Tep, which starred Bruce Campbell as Elvis Presley and Ossie Davis as Jack.

The structures were labelled as being vacant but were used in the past as part of a rehabilitation service. No injuries were reported.

In Bubba Ho-Tep, Bruce Campbell plays, “…a now aged Elvis Presley who wakes up in an East Texas nursing home where he befriends Jack, an African-American senior who claims to be President John F. Kennedy. After residents of their quiet retirement community start dying of dubiously unnatural causes, Elvis and Jack discover that the perpetrator is Bubba Ho-Tep, an Egyptian mummy with murderous intentions.
