Adria Petty to Direct Suffocate for Radar Pictures

Adria PettyAdria Petty (daughter of rocker Tom) has been tapped to direct the Ben Olson-penned Suffocate for Radar Pictures as her narrative feature film debut. Described as a “thriller”, Suffocate does seem to have enough genre elements to warrant a mention here on Dread, but only time will tell how much coverage we’ll wind up doing in the future.

Per Deadline Suffocate is about a group of city workers who enter a hoarder’s condemned brownstone and find it loaded with deadly traps and an unrelenting killer. The group is forced to use their wits–and demolition tools–to stay alive.

Petty’s background includes commercials for the likes of McDonald’s and Target and music videos for Beyonce and Regina Spektor. She directed the documentary Paris, Not France and a recent Live in London concert film with Spektor.

Look for more soon if it turns out this one lands on the horror side of the fence.
