I promise that this is the weirdest thing you’ll see all day – no fooling! The UK price comparison website Moneysupermarket.com put out a commercial in which none other than Masters of the Universe villain Skeletor and his arch nemesis He-Man strut their stuff.
I never saw the cartoon or got into the comic books, although I’m now almost embarrassed to admit that I loved the 1987 Masters of the Universe movie as a kid. The one where a shirtless Dolph Lundgren bellows, “I have the power!” Truly Oscar-worthy material.
The franchise hasn’t exactly achieved household name status in the UK, so I’m guessing that a good number of people who catch this on TV or in a cinema before the movie starts probably won’t understand what the hell it’s all about. But still, where else are you gonna see ’80s cartoon icons dancing to Irene Cara’s “Fame”?
