For many of us fans, horror isn’t just something we prefer watching, it’s a large part of our lifestyle. It’s something we live and breathe on a daily basis, something that shapes who we are. Whether it be with random quotes, listening to horror soundtracks while commuting, getting tattoos of famed villains, or whatever else we might do to show our love, horror is deeply embedded within each of us.

For some people, the love of horror will find its way into the most important days of their lives. Take, for example, Kelli and Matt, who tied the knot at this year’s Mad Monster Party in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Not just content on dressing up like denizens from a classic genre title, they reached out to none other than Sid Haig to preside over the ceremony, which he agreed to do! Dressed fully in his House of 1,000 Corpses Captain Spaulding outfit, Haig did the whole bit, including the signing of the marriage certificate after the ceremony, although I don’t know if he attended a reception afterwards. I would certainly hope that an invitation was extended, especially because you definitely don’t want a pissed off clown coming after you!

But let’s be honest here and admit that this is really sweet and precious. Two horror fans found love in each other and then got Sid Haig to dress up as Captain Spaulding, perhaps one of the most iconic horror villains of this century, to wed them. It’s moments like these that make me love just how passionate, dedicated, and connected this community can be.

To Kelli and Matt, may you two have many years of health, wealth, happiness, and trust ahead of you! We send our best wishes as you two start a new life together as husband and wife!

You can seen the full video of the ceremony below. I highly recommend wearing headphones as the volume levels aren’t the best.
