One of the most hyped VR horror games now has a release date, as The Oculus Blog posted an article confirming that developer Twisted Pixel Games’ Wilson’s Heart will launch on the Rift on April 25.
Featuring an A-list cast including Rosario Dawson, Peter Weller And Alfred Molina, Wilson’s Heart uses black and white visuals to tell the story of Robert Wilson, an ageing patient who wakes up trapped in a seemingly abandoned 1940’s hospital to find that not only has his heart been removed and replaced with a strange device, but the so-called ‘place of healing’ is also filled with creatures that want him dead. Everything from killer teddy bears and giant octopus things to mysterious men in gas masks will be trying to snuff out Wilson’s life.
Launching for $39.99, Wilson’s Heart will take around eight hours to complete, making it far longer than the average narrative-driven VR experience. Described as having ‘AAA quality graphics’, you can learn more about Wilson’s Heart ahead of its release on its official website.
Wilson’s Heart is an immersive first-person psychological thriller set in a 1940’s hospital that has undergone a haunting transformation. In this original VR adventure, you become Robert Wilson, a patient who awakens to the shocking discovery that his heart has been replaced with a mysterious device.
As the hospital hauntings intensify, you and your fellow patients must traverse increasingly maddening corridors, overcome frightening environmental hazards and work together to defeat the sinister inhabitants in your pursuit to reveal who stole your heart… and why.
Wilson’s Heart leverages an eccentric cast of characters, compelling narrative, striking visuals, and the immersive nature of Touch to bring you into an interactive adventure of mystery unlike any other game.
