AFM 2010: Michael Bassett to Helm Silent Hill: Revelation 3D
Some huge news out of AFM for fans of the Silent Hill franchise: Michael Bassett, director of Solomon Kane (a film we’re still hoping to see someday soon), will both write and direct Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (the newly renamed sequel to Christophe Gans’ Silent Hill) on location this winter in the Toronto area.
Along with confirming that the film will be in 3D and produced by Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody (Resident Evil: Afterlife), we learned that the storyline will be along the lines of the following:
The sequel follows Heather Mason and her father, who have been on the run – always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now, on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.
Aside from the fact that the title is suspiciously similar to the new Hellraiser: Revelations sequel, count us 100% on board, and stay tuned for updates, including hopefully some casting news, soon.
