Mike Flanagan to Inherit the Earth

Mike Flanagan is carving out a hell of a career for himself as the Oculus and Ouija: Origin of Evil director will soon Inherit the Earth for Sony! Deadline is reporting that Flanagan will write and is attached to direct the project.
Flanagan is re-conceiving Inherit the Earth, loosely based on the spec development script by JT Petty for IDW’s Zombies vs. Robots comic, which centers around a young girl, the last survivor on earth, who is protected by a group of robots from a pack of zombies that are intelligent and evolved.
The project is being overseen at Sony by Jonathan Kadin, EVP of Production. Filmmaker Andrew Adamson departed the project nine months ago.
With Inherit the Earth Flanagan re-teams with Platinum Dunes, who produced Ouija 2. Along with Dave Alpert and Rick Jacobs at Circle of Confusion, Platinum Dunes has been on the project since its early stages of development. Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller are producing with Alpert and Jacobs as well as Ted Adams and Trevor Macy.
