Real Buyer of Anne Hathaway Monster Movie Colossal Revealed!

Following its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, we got word earlier this week that an unidentified China-based company had purchased the US rights to Nacho Vigalondo’s monster movie Colossal, which certainly intrigued us. Those reports, however, weren’t quite true. Read on for an update!

As reported by THR today, the mystery behind the release has been solved. The true buyer of Colossal, it turns out, was a new company formed by Radius co-founder Tom Quinn and Alamo Drafthouse owner Tim League. They’re reportedly planning an ambitious release, likely in 2017.

Synopsis:
Gloria (Hathaway) is an ordinary woman who, after losing her job and being kicked out of her apartment by her boyfriend, is forced to leave her life in New York and move back to her hometown. When news reports surface that a giant creature is destroying Seoul, South Korea, Gloria gradually comes to the realization that she is somehow connected to this far-off phenomenon. As events begin to spin out of control, Gloria must determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.
