Sony Pictures Animation has announced its lineup for 2017-18, and it includes two very intriguing pieces of information.

Firstly, and we all saw this coming, there’s a new Ghostbusters animated series in the works, in addition to the already announced animated movie. Called “Ghostbusters: Ecto Force,” it’s set in 2050 and focuses on a whole new team, which will hopefully consist of both male and female members so that the SJWs have nothing to complain about. Series veteran Ivan Reitman will return to produce.

The next announcement also won’t surprise anyone: a “Hotel Transylvania” series. What will surprise you is that it will be airing on the Disney Channel, despite Disney being a rival to Sony. It will follow Dracula’s daughter, Mavis, during her teenage years (which for her probably means her early 100s) and will air in 2017, one year before the release of Hotel Transylvania 3.

Synopses:
Brand new animated television series “GHOSTBUSTERS: ECTO FORCE” will further expand the Ghostbusters cinematic universe and focus on a new generation of Ghostbusters in the year 2050 who capture ghosts around the world with help from local teams—and some very cool gear! The younger-skewing Sony Pictures Animation project is being creatively spearheaded by Ivan Reitman and his production company Ghost Corps. “GHOSTBUSTERS: ECTO FORCE” is eyeing an early 2018 debut.

“HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA: THE TELEVISION SERIES” is targeted for a 2017 airdate. The animated television series, produced in partnership with Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, will focus on the teenage years of Mavis, Dracula’s daughter, and her friends. It will be airing on the Disney Channel worldwide.
