Do you fancy listening to some classic tunes as you unleash an endless torrent of bloodshed and mayhem? If the answer is yes, then a sick and twisted smile should be coming to your face right now as Suda 51’s ultra-violent free-to-play hack and slash fest Let It Die will feature over 100 songs from contemporary Japanese composers, all of which were handpicked by its lead composer, Akira Yamaoka.

To celebrate such a classic collaboration of talent, they’ve released a trailer featuring samples of what you can expect to hear in the game. And like everything that we’ve seen so far of the game, it’s brutal as fuck.

From the Press Release:
Known for the Silent Hill series, Shadows of the Damned, and many other widely celebrated video games, Akira Yamaoka was the first to deliver a total horror game experience through disturbing tunes and unearthly sounds. Having worked as the executive producer and composer of the Silent Hill live action film, his later works expanded outside the gaming world, such as Japan major TV drama “The Rules of a Great Detective” and other various projects.

Yamaoka-san’s work on LET IT DIE brings 100+ leading musicians from Japan that all have created original pieces for the upcoming free-to-play survival action game from GungHo Online Entertainment. LET IT DIE and Yamaoka-san invite all to experience the ultimate crossover of video games and music by hearing the songs throughout various scenes throughout the game.

“It’s been such a great honor to work on the soundtrack for LET IT DIE. LET IT DIE provides a one-of-a-kind musical experience that challenges the interactive collaboration of video games and music. The soundtrack is compromised of many of today’s preeminent Japanese musicians from a wide variety of genres that I believe we are making history with.” – Akira Yamaoka
