New Berserk Anime Series to Premiere on July 1st

If you’re in the mood for some good old anime ultra-violence, you’ll be happy to learn that the new “Berserk” series will debut on July 1st on the Japanese station WOWOW and will be simulcast on Crunchyroll.
The original manga series by Kentaro Miura followed mercenaries Guts and Griffith and their blood-soaked exploits in a monster-filled dark fantasy world. The series has received considerable attention for its brutal, graphic violence.
The new series will adapt the manga’s Black Swordsman story arc, which was not featured in the previous anime adaptations.

Miura Kentarou’s “Berserk” is currently serialized in seinen comics magazine Young Animal. Volume 38 releases June 24th.
