The Nightmare Gets Reborn in Haunting Gears of War 4 Cinematic Trailer

With the song “The Sound of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel getting untold amounts of attention right now due to the Sad Affleck meme, it comes as no surprise for the latest Gears of War 4 trailer to also feature it, although this time it’s the version of the song from the band Disturbed, whose lead singer, David Draiman, admits that it gave him chills.
And it sure gave me chills too. Watching former series protagonist Marcus Fenix raising his young son and future protagonist JD in a picturesque country environment, interspersed with moments of brutal alien war violence, makes for one hell of an impact. Although it didn’t include any gameplay footage, rest assured that if the marketing department can whip up such an awesome cinematic trailer, then Gears of War 4 is gonna be awesome.
